Extension du centre-ville d'Auby

THE PROJECT IN SUMMARY

In the metropolitan area of Douaisis, the city of Auby is made up of an urbanized historic center, bordered by an economic activity zone, an agricultural zone, and a wetland. With around 7,500 inhabitants, Auby is located on the edge of the Deûle canal while facing back towards it.

The former mining area of this region is now undergoing profound restructuring and inspiring new projects that go beyond the scale of the territory. In this context, Auby has a large potential for an urban reconversion to materialize the “Auby 9000” project - reaching 9000 inhabitants.

The objective of this project is to define a certain number of actions to be implemented in the short, medium, and long term to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Auby. Improving the image and dynamism of the municipality while proposing, depending on the sector, a new supply of housing, activities, equipment, or public spaces.
