Joining Nature & Cities
JNC International s.a., also called Joining Nature and Cities, was founded in 1968 by the landscape and urban designer Jean Noël Capart. Our group currently includes approximately 40 architects, landscapers and engineers specialising in the fields of strategic planning, urban design, landscape design, and environmental engineering.
In a world in which the balance between environment and urbanisation is a major issue, Joining Nature and Cities, offers a unique approach that is directly congruent with sustainable development. Our approach combines a sense of creativity and observation with the concepts of exchange and the communication of ideas, and through each project we seek a reconciliation between man and nature. “Thinking globally, acting locally”: these projects deal with different scales, ranging from large tracts of land down to small plots, responding to basic human needs of comfort and well-being, at the same time respecting environmental issues, and contributing to a harmonious and integrated development.
Combining receptiveness and communications capabilities, further enhanced by a reflex for analysis and synthesis, in each project we seek to apply the most effective synergies between professionals of complementary disciplines. “Thinking laterally” is the spirit in which we work with a large number of architects, engineers, artists or experts specialising in the fields of economics, sociology and environmental sciences (biology, geology, hydrology, etc.).
JNC International s.a. is present at three sites in Belgium and France - Brussels and Nivelles (BE) and Lyon (FR), and [over the past 45 years,] has developed substantial project experience in over 20 different countries in Europe (Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, Western Russia), in Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Ethiopia, Congo), in America (the United States and the Dominican Republic) and in Asia (China, Iraq, Saudi Arabia).
Ethics and Values
The trust that JNC International s.a. has earned from its customers and partners over more than 45 years of experience, is derived from a respect for ethics and values that we can summarise as follows:
Integrity – In order to respond better to their objectives, we work only as designer and project manager for our clients. In this sense, we are free of any political, business or financial constraints or connections.
Honesty - Always working together in a constructive and transparent manner, throughout all our missions we maintain the objective of providing genuine, accurate and comprehensive information.
Respect – we apply this principle to human rights, their dignity and their individualities, and to the diversity of cultures and laws of each country in which we work, which is in turn extended to apply to the environment.
